Boy's Night

  Kelly was back stage in her dressing room changing her costume between scenes.  Kelly was a drama student and a senior and was excited to be playing Viola in a contemporary production of "A Twelfth Night," as it was opening night of her final production before graduation.  

  For the next scene she had to dress up in drag to play Cesario.  She had stripped off her previous costume and stood naked before the mirror binding her chest.  She was pretty tall at 6'1" and weighed 140 pounds.  While her brunette hair normally flowed down her back, she had cut it shorter to make it easier to tuck under a wig cap for her scenes as Cesario.  

  After binding her chest she put on a men's undershirt and a pair of boxer briefs, which she stuffed with socks to create the illusion of a bulge.  As it was a contemporary retelling, her costume was a modern day men's suit.  She put on the shirt and buttoned it up, then put on the suit pants and tucked in the shirt and put on a belt and necktie.  Next she put on a pair of dress socks and dress shoes.  Finally she put on the suit jacket.  Her clothing complete she went to the vanity and put on her wig.  She completed the look by thickening her eyebrows and creating sideburns and a bit of facial hair.  

  With the transformation complete she looked into the mirror to see how she looked and was surprised at what she saw.  Staring back at her was a handsome guy with a cute smile.  Realizing she was that guy made her feel a bit strange as though she was a different person.  She was never really into the tomboy look, preferring skirts and dresses, and felt strange being dressed in this manner.  

  She was jolted back to reality when the fire alarm began to blare.  She ran out of her dressing room into the hallway, as did her best friend Courtney, who was playing Olivia and in the dressing room next door.  She was 5'7," with long blonde hair and wearing a yellow gown and a pair of 3" heels.  Soon the rest of the cast members had gathered into the hall as well and the drama teacher, a frenzied chubby man in his 60s with gray hair, directed them to head outside.  As they exited the theater Kelly saw the audience piling out of the theater and being gathered into the courtyard.  Many of them appeared drenched.

"Your attention please," the drama teacher announced in a stern tone, "it appears this was just a prank.  Someone set off the fire alarm and the sprinklers.  I hope whoever did this is pleased with themselves, the play will have to be postponed until the theater is dried.  I apologize to everyone for the inconvenience and you will all be given complimentary tickets to a future performance or a refund if you wish."

Kelly and Courtney headed for a bench by the theater to escape the angry crowd.  

"This sucks," Kelly said angrily, "We put a lot of work into this play and some jerk had to go and ruin it."

"Hey, don't worry," Courtney replied, "I'm sure they'll find whoever did this.  

"Thanks Court," Kelly said calming down a bit, "I don't know how you do it but you always manage to stay so calm."

They laughed a bit and watched as the campus police officer pulled some kid out of the theater storage room.  

"Well, we better go change," Kelly said standing up and walking into the light.

"Wow," Courtney exclaimed staring at Kelly, "I've never really seen you in your full costume before, but you really look like a boy.  I have an idea.  Let's go out and have a little fun.  I bet you could pass pretty well as a guy."

"Actually, that sounds like it could be fun," Kelly responded, "and I could use a little fun after tonight.  But, aren't we dressed a little formal?"

"Hmm, you're right, lets go to my house and change into something more casual.  My brother Brad should have some clothes you could wear, you're about his size."

"Gee, thanks," Kelly said laughing.
            
  They got into Kelly's car and drove to Courtney's house.  Kelly went to Brad's room and changed into a pair of loose fitting jeans, a sweat shirt, a pair of white socks, and a pair of basketball shoes.  She put on a baseball cap to complete the look.  She went to Courtney's room where Courtney had changed into a black halter top, a short denim jean skirt, and a pair of knee high boots.  

"How do I look?" she asked.

"Wow, if I didn't know you I'd think you were a guy, and a pretty good looking one.  We need a name for you tonight."

"How about Kevin," Kelly answered, "If had been born a boy my parents were gonna name me Kevin."

  Courtney agreed and they left the house and headed for a fast food burger place to get something to eat.  When they go to the counter Kevin ordered their food in a masculine voice he had practiced for the play.  No one noticed Kevin was really a girl and some even commented that they were a cute couple.  When they finished their meal they decided to hold hands to create the illusion they were boyfriend and girlfriend and Kevin held the door open for Courtney as they exited.  

  Next they headed for the high school basketball game.  When they got inside a few of their friends and classmates spotted them and said hello to Courtney, but none of them recognized Kevin as Kelly and some of the girls told Courtney that her boyfriend was hot when Courtney introduced him as Kevin.

"Sorry, he's mine girls," Courtney said kissing Kevin on the cheek.

  When Courtney kissed him Kevin began to feel a bit strange.  He'd never been attracted to Courtney or any other girl before, but at that moment he felt like a real guy.  He shook it off as they followed their friends to their seats and Kevin was "introduced" to the group.  During the game Kevin began to feel more comfortable and sat with his legs stretched out, something he would never do as Kelly.  Some of the girls, including the cheerleaders, began flirting with him so he put his arm around Courtney hoping to avoid their flirtatious attempts.  He soon realized, however, that their attitudes turned to jealousy toward Courtney.  Courtney noticed this and became defensive resting her head on Kevin's shoulder.  Kevin's hand rested on Courtney's shoulder as he began to feel turned on by the softness of her skin.  Feeling confused he put his hand on the back of the wooden bench to avoid the feeling.  

  Their team won the game and after the game Kevin and Courtney hung out for a bit with the players, including Kelly's crush Ron, as they were friends with Courtney.  The team talked to Kevin just like he was one of the guys and invited them out to celebrate the win with their girlfriends as some of their friends.  They all headed over to a local pizza place that often did fundraisers for the team.  Soon after they got their Courtney and the girls excused themselves to go to the rest room.  While they were gone the guys on the team and Kevin started talking, and a lot of the guys went on about how lucky he was getting with Courtney as every guy in the school wanted her.

"So have you hit that yet dude?"

"Yeah how is she in bed?"

  Kevin began to feel uncomfortable at the direction of the conversation, and wanted to ask Ron if he liked Kelly, but he decided to hold back and to play along with the conversation to avoid being discovered as a girl.  When the girls got back, Kevin pulled Courtney close and kissed her on the lips.  This got smiles and cheers from the guys.  Courtney was taken aback at first, but then kissed Kevin back and opened her mouth.  They soon fell into a rhythm and began making out, as Kevin stroked her bare thigh.  After a couple hours they all got up and said their goodbyes.  Kevin and Courtney got in the car and headed back to Courtney's house.  They sat in silence for a while before Kevin spoke.

"Hey, don't worry.  Actually, it felt kind of nice.  You're a pretty good kisser and really look good as a guy.  After David and I broke up last month, I guess I needed that."

  They sat in silence again sneaking awkward glances at each other until the arrived at Courtney's house.  The house was empty as her parents had gone off to visit her brother at college.  They went upstairs to her bedroom and Kevin broke the silence.

"Listen, I hope this doesn't make you feel weird and I don't want to ruin our friendship, but when we kissed tonight I felt something.  I don't think I'm a lesbian, but in that moment I felt like a real guy.  The feeling was something I never felt before and for some reason I felt I had to have you."

  A week later the theater was finally ready and the new set was built.  The play was a success and everyone complimented Kelly and Courtney on their performances, including Ron who Kelly found out did like her.  Ron also admitted he was a bit surprised that Kelly was the dude he hung out with the other night and asked her why she kissed Courtney.  Kelly explained to him that she was not a lesbian and how she felt pressured by the situation.

"Well, don't worry," Ron said laughing, "I suppose me and the guys can go a bit overboard sometimes when we're together.  Though I have to admit now that I know you were Kevin, that kiss got a lot hotter."

"Well," Kelly said smiling, "you looked pretty hot as Veronica in that womanless pageant last weekend, maybe Kevin and Veronica can get together sometime."

Ron turned down the offer and they both laughed.  Not long after Ron asked her out and they soon became a couple.    

  After graduation Kelly attended NYU in their theater program and Courtney studied law at Berkley.  During their time in college Kelly and Ron remained a couple and Courtney met and fell in love with a guy named Kyle and eventually both couples were married.  Though they now lived far apart, Kelly and Courtney remained close friends and were the Maid of Honor in each other's wedding.  

  Kelly never dressed as a man again, but often when she is alone and folding her husband's laundry she thinks back to the day she got to spend in the boy's world and the experience she shared with her best friend Courtney.
